Professor Badran A. Badran is Professor of Communication and Media Sciences at Zayed University, Dubai Since 1999, he has taught events management and promotion, tourism promotion and publicity, tourism communications, events management and promotion and other areas. He has 26 years of teaching and research experience in the UAE and in Arab, European and U.S. universities.
He holds a Diploma in International Travel and Tourism from Oxford University, an M.A. in Journalism from Indiana University, Bloomington and a Doctorate in Communications from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the United States.
Dr. Badran has published in tourism and hospitality research, including studies in destination images, tourism advertising and promotion. His other research interests are in public relations, Arab media and culture and new media.
At Zayed University, he has served as Assistant Provost, Assistant Dean of the College of Communication and Media Sciences; Director of Training at the Center for Media Training and Research; Consultant and Acting Director of the Department of Public and Cultural Relations; and Executive Assistant to the Vice President. He is currently the accreditation coordinator of the College of Communication and Media Sciences.
